Fairwood students are becoming global citizens through the increasing use of technology with the assistance of the Enhancing Education Through Technology grant.
Academic Support
READING PROGRAM: Fairwood has an uninterrupted LACES Reading Framework block.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES: ESL (English as a Second Language), special education, and ELO tutoring. Children also have the opportunity to be involved in safety patrol, student council, instrumental music, choir, and other exciting activities.
Parent Involvement
Parent Teacher Association. Informal parent meetings and in-services focusing on the Ohio Achievement Test, technology integration, parental engagement opportunities and membership in the Parent – Teacher Association provide parents with numerous opportunities to be involved at school. A Parent Consultant is available to assist our school in finding ways to increase parental engagement opportunities.

Free or Reduced-price School Meals
 Breakfast and lunch is FREE for all CCS students this school year.
Teachers are trained extensively in various academic content areas. In addition to an emphasis on reading, phonics, and writing, we offer a strong curriculum, which includes math, science, social studies, health, art, music (vocal/instrumental) and physical education. Our curriculum is closely aligned with the state grade level indicators. Technology skills using the computer are emphasized throughout content areas.
Dress Code:
Navy bottoms; white, yellow or gold tops.
Fun Activities:
Our ARTS Team plans fun activities for students and their teachers several times a month. We schedule monthly artists-in-the-schools programs.
Hands-on science and math activities, field trips tied to the curriculum and learning opportunities to appreciate the differences in each of us.
Habitat Hollow program in conjunction with the Columbus Zoo.
